Idee 1° edition
January 20th | February 28th 2017
The exhibition Ideas I° was conceived by our gallery to display and consolidate one of the most important Italian collections of art. A heterogeneous collection, composed of works of historical significance, created entirely by us over the years. This collection narrates and indelibly certifies the path of the collector, from the first purchases up to the present day: similarly the exhibition aims to trace the aforementioned collecting path, exploring chronologically the underlying taste, the influences, the choices – always the result of careful analysis – and clearly the artworks. The collection will be unveiled and presented in ten editions, in order to enable our audience to enjoy the entire collection and to detect changes in trends, both in taste and within the history of art and the art market. These ten shows will not have a main theoretical theme but will be crossed by the same marked Idea of collecting art. In the first edition here introduced, you will find strong evidences of the historical transition from the figure – i.e. the early 40s of the twentieth century – to the concept, in the exposition represented by the latest acquisition, a Spazio Elastico of the 70s by Gianni Colombo, further noting how the collector is often driven not only by history but also by significant market influences.
Artists featured in this first edition of Ideas:
Getulio Alviani, Enrico Baj, Massimo Campigli, Enrico Castellani, Gianni Colombo, Antonio Corpora, Roberto Crippa, Giorgio De Chirico, Filippo De Pisis, Piero Dorazio, Lucio Fontana, Hans Hartung, Georges Mathieu, Gino Severini.
