April 9 | May 15, 2016
Curated by Miroslava Hajek
On this occasion, the gallery would like to present and match the paintings of some artists, undoubtedly significant, facing the problem of the renewal of painting from different perspectives: opposite examples of abstraction, from the mystical sign to a more clearly defined geometric shape. What unites their work is the effort to overcome the limitations of painting, bringing the spectator to see their thought. Through a selection of twenty artworks dating from the early Fifties to the end of the Eighties, the exhibition aims to unveil the various facets of abstract painting.
Antonio Calderara, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Gianni Colombo, Piero Dorazio, Lucio Fontana, Kuno Gonschior, Hans Hartung, Paul Jenkins, Georges Mathieu, Fausto Melotti, Ennio Morlotti, Mario Nigro, Giuseppe Santomaso, Emilio Scanavino, Emilio Vedova.
